Sea Creatures (2016)

A music mix inspired by Richard Ayoade's 2010 film Submarine, created around the idea of imagining the film as a musical. Dialogue from the movie is arranged sequentially throughout the mix, preserving the arc of the original story, while a selection of songs acts as an alternate soundtrack, each chosen to reflect, extend, or narrate what is happening between the characters.

Rather than simply compiling music inspired by the film, Sea Creatures uses dialogue and songs together to retell its story through sound, imagining how Submarine might unfold if its characters broke into songs that expressed the moments, emotions, and relationships on screen.
